Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool on Monday.

Having lost both of their opening matches against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford in the Premier League, there could scarcely be more riding on Monday's home match against Liverpool for Manchester United.

Given their fall from grace in recent years, it was always likely to take time for Erik ten Hag to turn things around at Old Trafford, but few could have foreseen their nadir of last weekend's 4-0 defeat to Brentford.

With Liverpool already falling four points behind potential title rivals Manchester City, these two fierce rivals head into Monday's fixture scrapping for the three points.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Liverpool on Monday.

Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: August 27 (vs. Southampton)

Victor Lindelof is yet to feature for Man United this season having picked up a knock prior to the opening day defeat to Brighton, with the Sweden defender yet to return to training. However, he could be in contention for next weekend's trip to Southampton.

Facundo Pellistri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 4 (vs. Arsenal)

After suffering an ankle strain in Man United's pre-season friendly against Atletico Madrid, Ten Hag revealed "the prognosis is that [Pellistri] will not return before September." As such, the 20-year-old Uruguay international will hope to be involved for his side's home match against Arsenal.

MAN UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST
