Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester City

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from Tuesday's Champions League disappointment when they continue their Premier League campaign at home to Manchester City this weekend.

The Red Devils were eliminated in the group stages of the European Cup courtesy of a 3-2 loss to RB Leipzig in Germany, meaning that the English giants will drop into the Europa League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have won their last four in the league, though, and currently sit sixth in the table, just five points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur with a game in hand.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with City, who occupy seventh position in England's top flight.

Edinson Cavani

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 12 (vs. Manchester City)

Edinson Cavani missed out against Leipzig due to the muscular problem that he picked up against West Ham United last weekend, but the experienced striker is expected to be available on Saturday.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Phil Jones remains on the sidelines with a long-term knee problem, although the centre-back would not have been available for this match in any case as he is not in the club's 25-man Premier League squad.

Anthony Martial

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 12 (vs. Manchester City)

Anthony Martial limped off the field in the second half of Saturday's clash with West Ham, having picked up a muscular strain. The France international missed out against Leipzig in the Champions League and is seen as a major doubt for the Manchester derby this weekend.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

United do not have any suspension concerns for Saturday's contest and will have Fred, who was banned against Leipzig in the Championa League, available for selection.
