Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford returns to first-team training this week after over a month out with a shoulder injury.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has returned to first-team training this week after over a month out due to injury.

Following the conclusion of Euro 2020, the 23-year-old underwent successful surgery to resolve his longstanding shoulder injury in August.

The Englishman has gradually been building his way back to full fitness ahead of making his first appearance of the new season, and has now been seen training with the first team at Carrington.

United's Premier League clash away at West Ham United on Sunday will come too soon for Rashford, though it is thought the forward will be available to play at the beginning of next month.

As soon as Rashford returns, he will be faced with stern competition for a place in the starting lineup, now that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal.

With summer signing Cristiano Ronaldo expected to lead the line on a regular basis as the central striker, Rashford will likely be competing with the likes of Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho for a place in the side.
