Luke Shaw aiming to put "a run of games together"

Luke Shaw is hoping that he remains fit so that he can become a regular in the Manchester United starting lineup.

Luke Shaw has expressed his determination to have an extended run in the Manchester United starting lineup.

Since the 19-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Southampton for a reported £30m in the summer, injuries have limited him to just nine appearances.

However, having returned to the starting lineup for Thursday's 1-1 draw away at Stoke City, the left-back is now eager to become a regular fixture in Louis van Gaal's team.

"I need game time now. I had [around] 60 minutes against Stoke and that was pre-planned. If I had been able to go on longer then I would have done, but I think the main thing for me now is to get a run of games together," he told the club's official website.

The Red Devils have lost just one of the nine matches that Shaw has featured in.
