Ander Herrera: Manchester United players "can be proud"

Ander Herrera takes the positives from Manchester United's bland goalless draw with Liverpool, claiming that his side can be happy with their efforts.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has claimed that his teammates proved in their goalless draw with Liverpool that they are prepared to "fight for everything" this season.

The Red Devils were unable to find a way through at Anfield in what was a disappointing match, but they also restricted their opponents to make the short trip home with a point to show for their efforts.

Herrera, who played the full 90 minutes of the low-key affair, was quick to talk up United's efforts after becoming the first side to leave Anfield with a share of the spoils this term.

"We just tried to win every duel, every battle, every ball. We knew it would be a good fight," he told Sky Sports News. "We can be proud.

"We wanted to win but I think we showed we are a big team, we are going to fight for everything and I am proud of every teammate."

The point ensures that United remain in seventh place in the Premier League table, five points off joint-leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.
