Aston Villa cancel Sunday's training session after 'a number' of positive coronavirus cases, according to a report.

Aston Villa reportedly cancelled Sunday's training session after 'a number' of positive coronavirus cases.

Steven Gerrard's side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday afternoon and are due to return to Premier League action away to Norwich City on Tuesday night.

According to The Athletic, the clash with the Canaries is expected to go ahead, while the team are set to train on Monday unless there are any further developments.

The report claims that only one player has tested positive for the virus, with the other cases coming from staff at the training ground.

Manchester United's clash with Brentford on Tuesday evening is in doubt, though, with the Red Devils seeing 'a small number of players and staff test positive' for the virus before Sunday's training session.

Tottenham Hotspur's Europa Conference League contest with Rennes was called off last week due to coronavirus cases in the camp, in addition to Sunday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.
