Daley Blind cites patience in Manchester United's win over Leicester City

Manchester United defender Daley Blind praises his side's patience and possessional play following their comfortable 3-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League.

Manchester United defender Daley Blind has hailed his side's ability to keep the ball following their 3-1 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League.

The Red Devils cruised to a comfortable win at Old Trafford on Saturday thanks to goals from Robin van Persie, Radamel Falcao and an own goal from Wes Morgan.

Blind played at the base of the midfield and was quick to praise his side's patience in the wake of victory.

"We are pleased with the result. We tried to keep possession and create chances from that," said Blind, according to BBC Sport. "We were the better team, keeping possession and scoring goals. Once you score the first goal the other team has to do something.

"We played a good game with a lot of patience and ball possession. The first-half was very good, in the second-half maybe we had too much patience. But we tried to kill the game with possession and create chances from that.

"We come closer every week to the way Louis van Gaal wants us to play. We are on the right track and we are happy. Of course you want a clean sheet but 3-1 at home, we played a good game and it is a good result."

United have temporarily moved into third spot in the Premier League table, with fourth-placed Southampton now holding a game in hand.
