Daley Blind praises Manchester United work ethic in Aston Villa win

Daley Blind praises Manchester United's work ethic throughout the match in their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in their Premier League clash.

Daley Blind has hailed Manchester United's performance in their 1-0 win over Aston Villa in their Premier League clash at Villa Park.

The Red Devils secured their second win on the spin in the top flight as Adnan Januzaj scored the only goal of the game to fire his side past Tim Sherwood's men.

Blind believes that he and his teammates' work ethic off the ball throughout the contest was crucial to their victory.

He told the club's official website: "It was something we talked about, starting afresh for the away games, but it's a good start. Last year, we gave some things away in the games, but now you've seen how strong we are at the end – we kept a clean sheet and fought for everything.

"I think again it was a real team performance, especially off the ball. We created some chances and we could have scored more, but we didn't give anything away and won 1-0. Three points are the most important thing, so again I'm happy with the team.

"It's not only the defence, it's the whole team, but of course as defenders it's good to have a clean sheet and it gives us a lot of confidence."

United are next in action against Club Brugge on Tuesday in the Champions League.
