Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Chelsea are still in the title race, despite their recent poor form.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that Chelsea are still in the title race, despite their recent poor form.

The Blues, who have lost five of their last six games in all competitions, are currently 12 points off Premier League leaders Manchester City.

However, Ferguson believes that Andre Villas-Boas's side can bounce back.

"I would never dismiss Chelsea," he said. "The progress they have made over the last decade is there for everyone to see.

"They have won three titles, they've won the FA Cup two or three times and are bang in there in the European competitions.

"That experience maybe helps them now, as they're having a bad spell, to come out of it."

Chelsea host Wolverhampton Wanderers later today, while the Red Devils entertain Newcastle United.
