Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof shrugs off Jose Mourinho criticism

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof says that he has paid little attention to criticism from former boss Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has suggested that he has "no problem" with being criticised by former manager Jose Mourinho.

Before the start of the 2017-18 campaign, Mourinho gave United the green light to spend £31m on Lindelof as he looked to strengthen his team's backline.

However, after United were defeated by West Ham United last weekend, Mourinho claimed that the Sweden international was prone to being 'bullied in the air'.

While insisting that he had not previously been made aware of the comments, Lindelof has said that he would still not have paid any attention to the negative feedback.

The 25-year-old told Sky Sports: "For me it has never been a problem, I'm a very easy guy. There is always going to be someone talking or someone else. When you play for this club there is always going to be people criticising you and the way you play.

"For me it has never been a problem, even when I play good there is someone criticising me for something. It's part of the job, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

"I'm just trying to do my thing and I don't focus on those things. I didn't even notice, or know about it, before you told me. That's how I live my life and focus on my things."

Lindelof has made 75 appearances in all competitions since his arrival at Old Trafford.
