Germany boss Joachim Low not concerned by Bastian Schweinsteiger form

Germany manager Joachim Low backs Bastian Schweinsteiger following criticism of the midfielder's form at Manchester United by Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal.

Germany manager Joachim Low has insisted that captain Bastian Schweinsteiger remains an integral part of his side, despite criticism of his recent form at Manchester United.

United boss Louis van Gaal questioned the 31-year-old midfielder's performance following Tuesday's Champions League defeat in Wolfsburg.

However, Low says that Schweinsteiger still has much to offer and is confident that the former Bayern Munich man will come good at Old Trafford.

"We at the German Football Association know what we are getting with Bastian," Low told Bild. "He's still a world-class player and undisputedly our captain."

"You've got to give even an experienced player like him time to adapt to a new league. I am sure that Manchester United are still going to get a lot of joy out of Schweinsteiger."

Schweinsteiger has played 24 times for United this season.
