Manchester United: No managerial announcement this week

Manchester United reportedly claim that the club will not make any announcements regarding the appointment of a new manager this week.

Manchester United have reportedly stated that they will not be making an announcement regarding the appointment of a new manager this week.

Numerous reports recently claimed that Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal would be installed as David Moyes's permanent successor this Wednesday.

While it has been claimed that Van Gaal has agreed a deal to take over at Old Trafford, a United spokesman has told BBC Sport that no announcements will be made this week.

Van Gaal, who has won league titles with Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, is due to meet with his World Cup squad today to begin preparations for the tournament in Brazil.

Ryan Giggs is currently in charge of the team on an interim basis, but talkSPORT have claimed that Van Gaal will add the Welshman to his backroom staff.
