Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has apologised for brandishing an imaginary card during Tuesday's 2-1 win against Liverpool.
Mancini made the gesture after Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel brought down Yaya Toue in the penalty area late on.
"When you play, during the game sometimes you can do something in the game that you regret, but in that moment I did not agree with the referee," the Italian told Sky Sports News.
Gareth Barry was sent off by referee Mike Jones moments before the incident for a second bookable offence.
Manchester City are currently top of the Premier League, three points clear of rivals Manchester United.
