Jan Molby: 'Luis Suarez can do things Robin van Persie, Gareth Bale can't'

Former Liverpool great Jan Molby believes the Player of the Year award should be between Luis Suarez and Robin van Persie.

Former Liverpool great Jan Molby believes that the Player of the Year award should be between Luis Suarez and Robin van Persie and not Gareth Bale.

Molby feels that the Uruguayan is capable of doing things that the Manchester United striker and the Tottenham Hotspur winger cannot.

He told the Daily Star: "How is Suarez the outsider in a three-way battle with Robin van Persie and Bale?

"Bale is the favourite and he has been superb for Spurs recently but the season started in August. For me, it should be between Suarez and Van Persie, whose goals are firing Manchester United to the title.

"Suarez has been incredible and he does things the other two aren't capable of."

The Uruguayan striker has been in excellent form for Liverpool, netting 28 goals in all competitions this season.
