David Moyes praises Ryan Giggs's "longevity"

David Moyes pays tribute to Ryan Giggs's professionalism on the Welshman's 40th birthday.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has praised the "longevity" of Ryan Giggs, who has turned 40 today.

Moyes said that any youngsters learning the game need only look at Giggs's career, which he says can keep going as long as he wants because of his professional attitude.

"He's undoubtedly at the top because of his longevity and the time that he has played for just one club, the amount of games he has played in Europe and in the Premier League," BBC Sport quotes Moyes as saying.

"Every season, you can look at Ryan Giggs moments and to be playing so well at his age is terrific and a great example to young players about how you should dedicate yourself throughout your career.

"And also to players who get into their early- to mid-30s and think things are coming to an end. Well, if you really look after yourself and train well, you can go on for a lot longer."

Giggs has been a member of the United first team for 23 years.
