Gary Neville: 'Ryan Giggs achievements will never be surpassed'

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes that Ryan Giggs's achievements at club level will never be surpassed.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has expressed his belief that Ryan Giggs's achievements throughout his 24-year playing career will never be surpassed.

Giggs announced his retirement from football this afternoon in order to focus on his new role as assistant manager to incoming United boss Louis van Gaal.

The 40-year-old amassed 35 trophies during his illustrious career, including 13 Premier League titles, and Neville believes that his honours list will remain the best in English football history.

"Well done for everything you have achieved at the club. It is wonderful what you have done and I don't think your achievements will ever be surpassed," Neville said in a video message on United's official website.

Giggs made 963 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 168 goals.
