Louis van Gaal: 'Players were nervous'

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal claims that some of his players were "very nervous" in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Swansea City in their Premier League opener.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has admitted that some of his players were nervous in their opening match of the 2014-15 Premier League season.

United went down 2-1 to Swansea City at Old Trafford earlier this afternoon as the Dutchman's first league game in charge of the former English champions ended in disappointment.

"I saw a lot of players very nervous, making the wrong choices. These players have to cope. It's Manchester United," he told reporters at a press conference.

United, who finished seventh last season – a position that cost former boss David Moyes his job, return to action against Sunderland next weekend.
