Louis van Gaal: 'Queens Park Rangers style could trouble us'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that Queens Park Rangers' "long-ball" style could trouble his side's defenders on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that his side's status as a "big club" will lead to Queens Park Rangers gaining extra motivation ahead of their clash at Loftus Road.

United travel to London after registering just one win in their last five league games, and despite QPR's lowly league position, Van Gaal is expecting his team to be tested by their opponents' playing style.

The Dutchman told reporters: "I think the players will do everything to beat Manchester United. I think it is always the same, because Manchester United is a big club.

"Every player and every team want to beat Manchester United. QPR have a playing style that is difficult for us, we have seen that already.

"They play a lot of long balls, they have strong strikers and we have to beat them in spite of that."

Three points for United would see them move ahead of Southampton in the Premier League table before the Saints' trip to Newcastle United.
