Jan Vertonghen expects Tottenahm Hotspur to do "nice things" against Manchester United when they visit Old Trafford on Saturday.

Jan Vertonghen has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are confident that they can secure victory against Manchester United on Saturday.

Spurs face United on the back of two successive league wins after beating Queens Park Rangers on Sunday and Vertonghen believes the squad are ready to end their run of six defeats at Old Trafford.

The Belgian defender said: "I played at Old Trafford last year with Ajax and it's an amazing atmosphere.

"I'm really looking forward to my first game there with Tottenham. I think we're strong enough to do nice things there.

"We've played well away from home and we've got a lot of confidence especially after this first home win."

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas believes that the team are on track to finish in the top four this season.
