Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that captain Nemanja Vidic is in the Manchester United squad for their fixture with Sunderland this Saturday.
The Serbian has been out of action since September after having a second operation on his troubling knee injury.
"Nemanja is back in the squad," said Ferguson. "He is a top defender and our captain."
Ferguson could not confirm whether Vidic would be in his starting XI, but did reveal that Jonny Evans will miss the match against the Black Cats with a hamstring strain.
