Sports Mole's Premier League Team of the Week

It was another exciting weekend of Premier League action on Saturday and Sunday, with plenty of goals, drama and controversy across 10 matches.

Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the table to five points with a 2-0 win over Liverpool, while Chelsea slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle United.

Manchester United saw off Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage, but Manchester City eclipsed their neighbours with a 7-0 rout of Norwich City.

Elsewhere, there were important victories for Hull City, Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at the 11 players who made their mark on the pitch.

Tim Krul (Newcastle United)
He may not have got on the scoresheet like Stoke City's Asmir Begovic, but Krul came to his side's rescue more than once as the Magpies stunned Chelsea at St James' Park.

Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City)
The tireless Argentine was a rampant force down the flank for City during their hammering of Norwich City.
Vlad Chiriches (Tottenham Hotspur)
Chiriches is looking perfectly at home in the Premier League, as demonstrated by his composed display for Spurs in their draw at Everton.
Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham Hotspur)
Playing at full-back might not be the Belgian's regular position, but he put in an impressive shift at both ends of the pitch to help Tottenham earn a point at Goodison Park.

Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United)
The skilful youngster dazzled yet again for the champions as they brushed aside Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Yaya Toure (Manchester City)
City's stand-in skipper capped a dominant performance with another superb free kick during his side's thrashing of Norwich City.
Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)
Not only was the Welshman involved throughout the Gunners' vital win over Liverpool, but he also made sure of the three points with a spectacular strike from long range.
Vurnon Anita (Newcastle United)
Despite only playing 40 minutes against Chelsea, Anita changed the game as his impact off the bench played a big part in the Magpies' victory at St James' Park.
Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)
The tricky Spaniard was full of life in midfield against Liverpool, providing a constant attacking threat and scoring his team's opening goal.

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)
United's talisman gave Fulham problems all afternoon at Craven Cottage, netting his seventh goal of the season in the process.
Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
Aguero was at his dangerous best against Norwich City as he scored twice in their eye-catching triumph at the Etihad Stadium.

Numpty of the week

Lee Cattermole: The Sunderland midfielder did his side no favours at the KC Stadium by getting sent off for a reckless challenge on Ahmed Elmohamady.

Goal of the week

Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) vs. Liverpool: The midfielder lit up the Emirates Stadium with a stunning half-volley from all of 25 yards as the Gunners ran out 2-0 winners in the top-of-the-table clash.
