Andre Villas-Boas confirms that John Terry will remain captain of Chelsea but will miss this weekend's visit of Manchester United with a knee injury.

Andre Villas-Boas has reacted to the news that John Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy.

The Portuguese manager confirmed that Terry will remain captain of Chelsea but will miss this weekend's visit of Manchester United with a knee problem.

"The statement from the FA is pretty clear on what was their decision-making. I don't agree with it. John will continue to be our captain."

Asked if the issue would affect Terry's performances, he said: "I don't think so. Not at all."

Terry's absence on Sunday could prevent awkwardness between Rio Ferdinand, older brother of Anton who Terry is said to have racially abused.
