Manchester United reportedly face serious competition from AC Milan for Independiente del Valle midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The 19-year-old, labelled "the genuine article" by South American football expert Tim Vickery, is rumoured to have been closely monitored by the Red Devils in recent months.
United are said to have even reached an agreement with Independiente over signing the youngster, but a work residence permit has not yet been granted and there are concerns over whether the deal will go through.
According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, however, Milan could be about to take advantage of the uncertainty by making an approach of their own.
The same report indicates that Milan and United are not alone in showing an interest in Caicedo, with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig also in the running.
Caicedo has scored six times and registered two assists in 31 appearances for Ecuadorian outfit Independiente.
