The agent of Nicolas Gaitan has claimed that discussions have taken place regarding the possibility of his client joining Manchester United this summer.
The 27-year-old Benfica midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford on a regular basis over the last four years, but so far a deal has never materialised.
However, Jose Irribarren has today hinted that while the 27-year-old is keen for the move to be concluded, they are waiting for a response from the Red Devils.
"Everything can happen. Negotiations exists, but we're waiting for an answer from the leader of Man United," he told Antena 1.
Recent speculation has suggested that Gaitan, who is also said to be the subject of interest from Spanish duo Atletico Madrid and Valencia, will cost potential suitors around £20m.
