A report claims that Arsenal have reached a £6.5m agreement with Brazilian club Ituano for Gabriel Martinelli, who was a target for more than 20 other top European sides.

Arsenal have reportedly seen off competition from more than 20 top European clubs to sign highly-rated Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli.

The 17-year-old's form for hometown club Ituano has seen him linked with an array of teams, including the Gunners' Premier League foes Manchester United, where he previously had a trial.

Reports over the past few days have suggested that a deal is now in place between Arsenal and Brazilian outfit Ituano for Martinelli's signature.

According to The Sun, Arsenal had to work hard to land the youngster as a number of rivals also held a serious interest in him, with a £6.5m offer believed to have been enough to tempt Ituano into selling this summer.

Martinelli has scored 10 times in 31 appearances over the last two seasons.
