Arsenal will reportedly try to fight off Manchester United for the signature of Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

Arsenal and Manchester United will reportedly go head to head for the signature of Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The Frenchman, who moved to St James' Park from Lille two years ago, is believed to have been monitored by the Gunners as well as the Red Devils, who sit at the top of the Premier League table with a 12-point lead.

It is understood that Wenger will have a £70m transfer kitty in the summer and is expected to lodge a £15m bid for the United target, according to The Express.

Cabaye moved to the North East for £4.8m from Ligue 1.
