Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is reportedly keen to discuss his future with the club, following the imminent arrival of Raphael Varane.

The Red Devils confirmed on Tuesday that they have agreed a deal in principle with Real Madrid to sign the Frenchman this summer, for a fee believe to be worth around £41m plus add-ons.

Varane's arrival is a concern for Bailly, who is worried that he may drop further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Bailly is currently representing the Ivory Coast at the 2020 Olympics, but according to ESPN, the 27-year-old would like to sit down with United's hierarchy to discuss his future when he returns back to Manchester.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will have seven central defenders on their books ahead of the new season when Varane's transfer is complete.

Captain Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are set to compete with Varane for a starting spot, while Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe and Teden Mengi are expected to leave the club - permanently or temporarily - before the transfer window shuts.

Bailly, who recently signed a new deal with United in April to extend his stay until 2024, made 21 appearances across all competitions last season, starting just 10 times in the Premier League.
