Tom Cleverley may still join Aston Villa?

Numerous reports suggest that Aston Villa could still sign Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley on loan.

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley could still reportedly complete a loan move to Aston Villa.

The England international's proposed switch to Villa Park was thought to have fallen through a few hours before yesterday's deadline passed because he was eager to join Everton.

That move to Goodison Park failed to materialise, though, which resulted in Villa making a second approach for his services not long before the 11pm cut-off point, according to numerous reports.

It is believed that both clubs have completed the necessary paperwork, but they are now awaiting ratification from the Premier League.

Speculation has suggested that the 25-year-old has agreed to initially join Villa until January.
