Aston Villa have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley.
The England international has been linked with a move to Premier League duo Everton and Villa, although Sky Sports News claims that the latter have now withdrawn their interest.
Cleverley, who has made just one appearance for United so far this season, is said to have been told by Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal that he is free to join a new club before tonight's 11pm transfer deadline.
Earlier tonight, Phil Neville insisted that it will be a "sad day" should his former club allow the 25-year-old to leave Old Trafford.
