David de Gea has reportedly refused to rule out signing a new contract at Manchester United, despite coming close to joining Real Madrid earlier this week.
The 24-year-old's proposed transfer to the Bernabeu fell through after the paperwork was not submitted before Monday's midnight deadline in Spain.
The shot-stopper has not played a single competitive game for the Red Devils so far this season, but according to Marca, the Spaniard has not ruled out putting pen to paper on fresh terms at Old Trafford.
Manager Louis van Gaal publicly claimed that De Gea has not been in the right frame of mind to play due to the transfer speculation, but the club are now confident that the goalkeeper will be professional and re-focus for the rest of the season.
