Everton allegedly fail with a bid to sign Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong, who is out of contract in the summer.

Everton have reportedly failed with an approach for Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong.

Having not been provided with regular football in the United first team this season, the playmaker is ready to leave Old Trafford at the end of his contract in the summer.

Since the turn of the year, Inter Milan have been heavily linked with the 20-year-old and it appears likely that the Dutchman will pen a long-term contract at San Siro.

FC Inter News claims that the Toffees have recently been in contact with Chong's representatives in a bid to edge out the Italian giants in the race for his signature.

However, the report adds that the prospect is still expected to link up with Inter before spending next season out on loan at another Serie A club.

Chong has made just four starts and six substitute appearances in all competitions this season.
