Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is reportedly keen to stay at the club, but wants a longer contract offer than the one-year extension currently on the table.

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has reportedly told the club that he wants a longer contract extension than the offer currently on the table.

Fellaini is out of contract at the end of this season and appeared to be on the verge of leaving the club in search of more regular first-team football.

However, after scoring the winning goal in Sunday's victory over Arsenal, both Fellaini and manager Jose Mourinho hinted that the Belgian will still be at the club next season.

ESPN reports that the 30-year-old is keen to remain at Old Trafford despite having previously turned down offers of a new contract, but is reluctant to sign a 12-month extension.

United's general policy is to offer players above the age of 30 a new one-year deal, but Fellaini is understood to want a contract similar to the one given to Antonio Valencia in 2017, which saw the then 31-year-old given a two-year extension with the option of another season on top of that.

Fellaini is reportedly wanted by clubs in France, Italy, Turkey and China, but would prefer to stay at United should the club come closer to meeting his demands.
