Juan Mata has admitted that he would want David de Gea to remain one of his teammates at Manchester United.
The goalkeeper, who has just one season remaining on his Old Trafford contract, has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.
The midfielder, who is also a teammate of De Gea's for Spain, told Marca: "Lots of people ask me about De Gea. He's a friend and I want him to be happy.
"He's currently one of the best goalkeepers in the world. From a selfish point of view, I would want to have him in my team."
De Gea joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
