Borussia Dortmund winger Shinji Kagawa confirms that he has held talks with Sir Alex Ferguson over a potential move to Manchester United.

Borussia Dortmund winger Shinji Kagawa has claimed that his meeting with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson went well.

The 23-year-old Japan international, who has been heavily linked with a summer move to Old Trafford, flew to England to discuss the proposed switch earlier this week.

He said: "It was good that I was able to meet Mr Ferguson, who had good words to say about me.

"I want to choose a team where I can take on challenges."

Kagawa has scored 14 goals this season, including a late strike in the German champions' 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the Champions League.
