Liverpool have reportedly beaten a host of Europe's top clubs to the signing of Ajax starlet Ki-Jana Hoever.
The 16-year-old full-back was understood to be on the radar of a number of clubs, including Liverpool's Premier League rivals Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.
However, the Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds have now won the race for Hoever's signature, with the youngster having been training with club's Under-18 team.
Jurgen Klopp's willingness to hand youth players first-team opportunities is thought to have been a major factor in Hoever's decision to join the club.
The teenager did not sign a professional contract with Ajax and so is available for a nominal compensation fee, although he will not be able to make his debut for the club until he is granted international clearance.
