Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly considering making a bid for Leicester City defender Liam Moore.
Injuries to Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Rio Ferdinand have seen midfielder Michael Carrick deployed out of position at centre-half in United's opening two Premier League matches this season.
Ferguson sent chief scout Jim Lawlor to watch Moore during the Foxes' 2-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and the Red Devils could make a bid for the 19-year-old before the transfer window closes on Friday, according to The Mirror.
Everton are also said to be keen on a move for Moore, who has made five Championship starts for the East Midlands club.
