Man United are close to agreeing a deal to bring Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski to Old Trafford in an £18m transfer next summer, according to reports.

Manchester United are reportedly close to agreeing a deal which would see Robert Lewandowski join them from Borussia Dortmund next summer.

The Bundesliga champions have admitted that the sought-after striker is almost certain to leave at the end of this season.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson is apparently keen on adding the Pole to his already impressive striking ranks, which include Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck.

According to German newspaper Bild, United have agreed an £18m fee with Dortmund and will double Lewandowski's wages with a five-year contract worth £20m.

Lewandowski has scored 40 times in 83 league games for his current employers.
