Report: Tottenham Hotspur want Javier Hernandez in, Emmanuel Adebayor out

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas apparently wants to reshuffle his striking options in January by signing Javier Hernandez and offloading Emmanuel Adebayor.

Tottenham Hotspur are apparently looking to reshuffle their forward options in January with the signing of Javier Hernandez and the sale of Emmanuel Adebayor.

Adebayor is seemingly out of the first-team picture at White Hart Lane after a poor first season under Andre Villas-Boas's management, as he scored just five times in the Premier League.

Turkish club Besiktas were close to taking him off Spurs in the summer, and are still interested in his services, but it is believed that the 29-year-old would prefer to stay in one of the major European leagues.

Should the Lillywhites offload the high-earning Togolese forward, Tottenham will pursue Manchester United poacher Hernandez, The Independent reports.

The 25-year-old, who had the best minutes-to-goal ratio in the top flight last term, has found starting opportunities limited at Old Trafford, but has insisted that he is ready to fight for his place.

However, Villas-Boas is desperate to add to his striking options, currently Roberto Soldado and Jermain Defoe, and will try to tempt the Mexican to move to Spurs with the promise of more regular football.
