Report: Manchester United switch attention to Monaco's Fabinho

A report in France claims that Manchester United are hoping to sign Monaco right-back Fabinho for £10m.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly made Fabinho his number one right-back target.

The Red Devils have been linked with a host of players in that position over recent weeks, including Dani Alves, Nathaniel Clyne and Gregory van der Wiel.

However, according to L'Equipe, Van Gaal has identified 21-year-old Monaco defender Fabinho as the ideal candidate to fill the void at Old Trafford.

The report adds that United would be willing to part with around £10m to sign the defender, who is a member of the Brazil squad at the ongoing Copa America.

Fabinho initially joined his Ligue 1 employers on loan in 2013, before he made the move a permanent one earlier this year.
