Barcelona are reportedly lining up a blockbuster summer move for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
The Argentina international has been in impressive form for Atletico during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 20 goals and registering five assists in 39 appearances in all competitions, including six goals and one assist in eight Champions League matches.
The 25-year-old signed a six-year deal with Diego Simeone's side upon his arrival from Manchester City, and he has been crucial to the capital outfit's excellent form during the current season.
Manchester United have recently been linked with a big-money move for the forward, and according to Fichajes, there is also genuine interest from Barcelona, who are exploring the possibility of a summer deal.
The report claims that Barcelona are prepared to offer €60m (£50m) plus Ferran Torres for Alvarez, but it remains to be seen whether Atletico are willing to let such an important player leave, especially after just one season.

Barcelona 'to offer cash plus Torres for Alvarez'
Torres has scored 11 goals and registered three assists in 28 appearances for Barcelona this season, but he continues to struggle for starts due to the presence of Robert Lewandowski through the middle.
Arsenal and Chelsea are also believed to be interested in signing Torres, with the 24-year-old believed to be open to a summer exit, providing that he joins a club which would offer him regular starts.
Torres is valued at €28m (£23m) by transfermarkt, making the overall cost of the deal €88m (£73m), but Atletico paid in the region of €99m (£82m) to sign him from Man City last summer.
Alvarez is Atletico's leading goalscorer this season, four ahead of Antoine Griezmann, and it could be a famous campaign for Simeone's side, with the team third in the La Liga table and present in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey and last-16 stage of the Champions League.

Would Alvarez be a good signing for Barcelona?
Eyebrows were raised when Man City allowed Alvarez to leave last summer, even taking into account the huge transfer fee.
It is not a surprise that the South American has been so impressive for Atletico this season considering his quality, and it would take some offer from Barcelona for the capital outfit to let him leave.
However, there is absolutely no question that he would be a wonderful signing for Barcelona, and the thought of him operating alongside Lamine Yamal and Raphinha in a front three is an incredible prospect.
Lewandowski is set to spend another campaign at Barcelona, but Hansi Flick's team need a forward to lead their line in the coming years, and bringing in Alvarez could potentially allow them to return to the top of the European game once again.
