Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson could reportedly make a move for Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar before the end of the month.
It is understood that Ferguson wants an experienced stopper to aid the development of current number one David de Gea, with the 33-year-old seemingly fitting the bill.
According to The Sun, United officials have made contact with the Italian, who spent seven years at Inter Milan, winning Serie A five times and the Champions League.
It has been reported that QPR are prepared to sell Cesar in order to cut their wage bill.
