Manchester United's Robin van Persie 'too pricey' for Galatasaray

Galatasaray head coach Hamza Hamzaoglu rules his side out of the running to sign Robin van Persie from Manchester United.

Galatasaray have abandoned their pursuit of Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.

Yesterday, Gala head coach Hamza Hamzaoglu revealed that the Turkish club were eager to recruit the Netherlands international.

However, just 24 hours later, Hamzaoglu has conceded that the financial package required to sign the 31-year-old is "very high".

"Robin van Persie is not on our agenda. The costs are very high. This year, we will be a little more careful," he told Spor 3.

Van Persie, who has 12 months left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, has recently been linked with Italian duo Juventus and Lazio.
