Marseille legend Jean-Pierre Papin believes that new signing Dimitri Payet is to thank for the new-found form of Andre-Pierre Gignac.
The 26-year-old was brought in from Lille during the summer and has netted three times in his opening two matches for the club to help L'OM to joint-top of Ligue 1.
Payet's goals have come alongside two strikes from Gignac, and Papin feels that the former has taken some of the burden off the forward.
"His movement is good, he's clinical when he has to be, he's there in the right place at the right time," Papin told La Provence.
"Now, he's not alone either. There are other players who play for him, and that can make all the difference."
Papin played for Marseille from 1986 to 1992.
