Mathieu Valbuena is in a race against time to be fit for Marseille's Champions League last-16 second leg against Inter Milan.
The midfielder picked up a thigh knock in France's 2-1 friendly win over Germany in Bremen on Wednesday.
After being replaced by club teammate Morgan Amalfitano, it was confirmed that the 27-year-old would be out of action for around 10 days.
The news means that Valbuena has definitely ruled out of Didier Deschamps's squad for the games against Toulouse and Evian TG.
The French team take a slender 1-0 lead to the San Siro on March 13.
