Marseille 2-2 Lyon

Lyon came back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with Marseille at the Stade Velodrome.

Benoit Cheyrou fired the hosts into a 16th-minute lead when his shot from inside the area found the bottom corner.

Bafetimbi Gomis could have draw the visitors level almost instantly, but the striker could only put his effort wide of the post.

Marseille's lead was doubled in the 34th minute when Brandao's low shot found the net.

It took Lyon only two minutes to pull a goal back as Gomis converted from close range after Jimmy Briand's corner.

It was all square just before half time when Souleymane Diawara converted into his own net.

Brandao and Morgan Amalfitano both missed chances for the home side as they began the second half brightly, while Gomis flashed a shot narrowly wide.

Alou Diarra's effort was well saved by Hugo Lloris before the midfielder planted his header high and wide from Cheyrou's inviting cross.

Loic Remy had a chance late on to win it for Marseille, but the forward's long-range drive was well saved by the agile Lloris.
