Marseille equalise late at Toulouse as three players see red

Marseille leave it late to equalise against Toulouse in a 1-1 draw which sees three players sent off.

Marseille left it late to equalise against Toulouse this evening in a 1-1 draw which saw three players sent off.

Toulouse's Etienne Didot and Marseille's Real Madrid loanee Lucas Silva both came close to giving their sides the lead in the first 20 minutes of the game, but shot wide of the posts.

Silva blazed a second, long-range shot over the bar with 10 minutes remaining in the first half, while Adrien Regattin was the first player to really test either goalkeeper as he forced Marseille stopper Steve Mandanda into a save as the half came to a close.

Things livened up in the second half, and after Tongo Doumbia came close to giving the home side the lead, Toulouse went ahead in the 67th minute as a Regattin shot from outside the box was deflected beyond Mandanda.

Marseille were down to 10 men with just under 15 minutes remaining when Benjamin Mendy was sent off 15 seconds after coming on as a substitute, having been deemed to bring down the last man in a Toulouse attack.

Toulouse's Francois Moubandje then received a second yellow card of the night with six minutes remaining after a foul on Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.

The one-man advantage was reversed in the 87th minute when Steve Yago was sent off for Toulouse for the game's third red card of the evening, giving Marseille late hope for an equaliser.

With that, Les Phoceens punished their opponents in the final minute as Michy Batshuayi scored a 90th-minute equaliser for the visitors to deny Toulouse their second win of the season.
