Andre Ayew could extend Marseille stay

Ghana international Andre Ayew could yet remain at Marseille, despite being linked with a move away from the French side.

Marseille midfielder Andre Ayew has insisted that he could yet remain at the Stade Velodrome despite speculation linking him with a move away from Marcelo Bielsa's side.

The 25-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, and he is currently free to discuss a move with other clubs in Europe.

However, Ayew has hinted that he may yet remain at the Ligue 1 outfit.

"The door is always open. Today, I don't know what the future holds," Ayew told L'Equipe. "Soon I will meet Mr Labrune [Marseille president] with my father, as I currently do not have an agent. We are going to hear what the president has to say and after that I will decide the next step.

"Whether the club secure qualification or not for the Champions League, my decision will solely depend on what I have experienced and I can still experience at the club. If I have to stay at Marseille, it will be because the club has big ambitions and things are in place to keep it that way.

"But if this is not the case, our paths will separate but in a very nice way. I'm someone who likes to prepare for the future, but right now I just take it one day at a time."

Ayew has scored four goals in 16 appearances this season for Marseille, who currently sit second in Ligue 1.
