Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has refused to rule out his side reaching the Championship playoffs following their 3-2 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Saturday's loss at Molineux has left Boro six points adrift of sixth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion with seven matches to play.
"I felt that we gave Wolves a tough game but the reality is that we did not get any points," Mowbray told Sky Sports News. "It is about getting points and I could not see us losing the game.
"Reaching the playoffs is a big ask for us but things can change quickly and this is a ridiculous league this year. Don't pick your coupon on the Championship is what I would suggest."
Middlesbrough continue their campaign on Tuesday when they welcome struggling Peterborough United to the Riverside Stadium.
