Millwall trio out of season opener against Leeds United

Millwall will be without Nicky Bailey, Richard Chaplow and Ed Upson for their season opener against Leeds United this Saturday.

Millwall have confirmed that they will be without Nicky Bailey, Richard Chaplow and Ed Upson for their Championship season opener against Leeds United this Saturday.

Chaplow picked up a calf injury in Friday's pre-season win over Mallorca.

"At first it was difficult to make a formal diagnosis as we were hoping that his injury was just from the initial contact of a challenge," said Millwall physio Bobby Bacic. "Nicky has had a scan since and it has shown a small tear to his calf.

"We are desperately trying to get him ready for the Fulham game on August 16 as he has a strong connection with the area and can't wait to get back playing."

Upson and Chaplow are both suffering with hamstring problems.
