Andy Parrish signs contract extension with Morecambe

Morecambe defender Andy Parrish signs a two-year contract extension with the League Two club until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Morecambe defender Andy Parrish has signed a two-year contract extension, tying him to the League Two club until the end of the 2015-16 season.

The versatile 25-year-old has made over 200 appearances for the Shrimps since joining them from Bury in 2008.

"Andy is a fantastic professional and a firm fans' favourite," manager Jim Bentley told the club's official website.

"He can play anywhere along the backline and is vital to what we want to achieve here."

He added: "I am delighted he has signed up again because he is the perfect age and still getting better and better."

Parrish has scored once for Morecambe, in a 2-1 home win against Dagenham & Redbridge last season.
